Interesting..

The 8-bit beat thing is really kinda annoying..Too much vibrato or something...Not sure about the musical jargon, but it bugged me.

To be honest, this was too much of a Video Game song to be filed under Heavy Metal. I could recognise bits of heavy metal in there, but the instruments were too electronic to be metal..That said, I like how you've tried to combine two very contrasting genres. It creates an original and interesting effect. The metal bits of it are the best parts, in my opinion.

The thing that bugged me the most is that at 1:08, the melody changed completely, and felt like a completely different song...

I'm curious exactly what it was that bothered you about the electronic aspects.

Regarding the disjointedness, it's because this is basically two different approaches to the genre that were stuck together. It's still a nascent project.

Thank you for the review.

Kinda odd..

It kinda reminded me of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air at first, but not half as good.

The beat was alright, simple enough. A small melody would have made the song nicer though.

The vocals were interesting..You have the fast-talking bit pretty good, but you don't feel like you're telling a story, merely saying words. I think this takes away from it. Try to add pauses and a bit more emotion.

Man, I wish I was the Fresh Prince... haha

Pretty awesome

Well, I think it goes without saying that I think you're a great voice actor, since I've hired you for at least one big project of mine.

The best bit was at the end, when you said "I am Mitchell Brown. I am a Newgrounds Voice Actor". It just sounded so genuine and cool.

A lot of the voices sounded like The Simpsons, so interpret that as you wish...

Some of the bits were pretty funny. Not laugh-out-loud funny, but funny enough to make it interesting.

I think it would have been nice to get to hear the individual voices a bit longer, but I suppose that would be hard with the format you chose.

Overall, it was pretty good..

Ill keep working on it. Thanks!

A bit generic

The beat was pretty good, so was the melody, but something about it sounded pretty generic and repetitive. Despite this, I could still listen to it easily without being bored or annoyed.

The fade out the end was pretty dull. Try and find more original ways to end your songs.

As a previous reviewer mentioned, there was a toe-tapping quality to it, and even though I wasn't that keen on it, I still found myself tapping along, although, knowing me, probably out of time:P

jxl180 responds:

lol, thank you for the tip about the fade out. Thanks for the review.

Emotional

There is a definite sense of emotion there, and it's really nice. I love the wide range of tone. It would have been nice to get a bit of percussion in there too.

I feel the intro is a bit long and repetitive, but once it gets going it's fine.

I can definitely see this being used in a flash, and possibly one of mine. It has a movie-like quality that I love.

It would have been nice to have a better ending than just fading out, but it doesn't ruin the rest of the song.

BlazingDragon responds:

Those are excellent comments that are worthy of consideration, especially regarding repetition. Thank you.

Repetitive.

The beat, which the song centred around, was really nice, and had a distinctive "marching" feel to it. I could actually see it being used in some scene in a flash movie where some robots were advancing on a human city or something.

The main problem I had was that it got pretty boring, because it sounded pretty much the same all the way through. Try to add a bit more variety in there.

Thanks for a good review) Sorry for late answer, my internet wasn't work...

Nice and relaxed

I liked the calm, relaxed feel to it, and many of the effects and 'ear candy' sounded really nice.

It felt like it suddenly changed the entire mood at about 2 mins, which was disappointing, because I was happy listening to the first bit..It gradually got back to the good bit though, so it was okay :)

The ending seemed a tiny bit lazy..try and have a longer outro, I think it would have worked better.

Relaxed?

You've got the feel right

It certainly had that "You win" feel to it. I think this would have been more powerful if you had but a crash at the end, or something.

The melody was nice. I could listen to it for a good while before getting annoyed.

At only 11 seconds, I'm finding it hard to say anything else about it, but I enjoyed it, and I'm sure it'll be used it many video games.

Great!

I loved this submission.

First of all, the humour was excellent. Not only was the actual concept very funny, but many of the lines were really funny as well.

Your vocals were really great too. Nothing I can fault there. Coupled with the music, it had a kinda Green Day feel, I think.

Which brings us on to the music. If you had submitted this with no vocals, it would have almost got top marks anyway. I love that genre anyway, and this was done really well.

Faved.

CountBoogie responds:

I appreciate the connection to Green Day, I like them. I also thank you for liking the background music, you have a good ear, as most people mainly focus on the lyrics. Cheers!

Bad vocals

It started off quite nicely, but when the vocals came in it went downhill. They seemed to be closer to talking than singing, and that wasn't because of the screamy quality. Either way, it just didn't sound good.

I think you could have made the guitar a bit louder, because there was a nice melody there, but it was overpowered by the drums and the vocals.

The endign was quite boring..Try to find more original endings than fading out. It just didn't work in a heavy metal song.
