Unoriginal

Art/Animation: 5/10
First off, they were sprites, so you lose big marks here...A lot of the animation was pretty shabby, even for sprites...Try not to zoom in so much..Even though it's pixel art, it can get hard to see..

Plot/Concept: 6/10
Sprite Collabs are completely unoriginal. There are about 100 on Newgrounds. Some of the actual pieces were quite funny, but by 'some', I mean maybe 4 or 5. I think you need to learn to turn down parts that aren't so good.

Audio/Music: 4/10
Many of the parts didn't have voices, which was a disappointment. Even the ones that did were of pretty poor sound quality.

Overall: 5/10
The 12mb file size was annoying, and after all, it was just a sprite collab.

Slightly better than the last...

Art/Animation: 6/10
As I said with the first one, it's just sprites, so I can't award major marks here. You used some nice parallax effects here, and nothing seemed too bad..

Plot/Concept: 7/10
Still nothing absolutely captivating, but I found the Megaman storyline quite interesting..

Audio/Music: 7/10
Still nothing wrong with the audio in terms of ambience and background, but it felt empty, and I really think it needs voice actors..I know froom experience that VAs are fairly easy to find, if you know where to look. If you need a hand getting VAs, PM me.

Overall: 6/10
Slightly better than the previous, but nothing that has grabbed my attention too much yet..

the third's plot will be fuller then this so stay tuned... and thanks for taking the time to review

It's just a sprite movie..

Art/Animation: 6/10
Well, sprites never rank highly in my book, but it was noticeable which sprites you did yourself, I think, and those ones were quite good too.

Plot/Animation: 6/10
It was a slightly interesting idea, but there was nothing in the script that captivated me: it wasn't funny, or full of action or anything..I never played Mario or any of those games much, so maybe I just don't 'get' sprite movies.

Audio/Music: 7/10
The sound quality was quite good, and I kinda liked the sprite sounds, it worked quite well. I would have liked some voice actors though.

[Overall: 6/10
For a sprite movie, it was quite good.

yes agreed that there isnt alot of story in the 1st ep like there should be. not as much as i would have liked looking at it now. Thanks for taking the time to review.

Hahaha

Art/Animation: 7/10
As you said, it isn't the best animation ever, but it is quite good. The art is a bit generic, and there isn't much attitude in the drawings. The fire effect was quite good too..

Plot/Concept: 9/10
I loved it. It started off kinda boring, but it gradually got more and more ridiculous thus making it funnier. I think it would have been funnier if you had stuck to words rhyming with "mole".. This would have made it better.

Music/Audio: 8/10
The piano is a tiny bit boring, maybe use a better piano or something. It would also have been nice to get some vocals, because having to read the subtitles all the time made it kinda annoying.

Overall: 8/10
Very funny, but could be improved.

blackcat2000 responds:

My focus was indeed to make something look decent whatever the consequences, so in making it easy-ish to draw, I guess I must've ended up making it look "generic" =|

And about rhyming with mole, that was actually my idea from the start! I had a list of things that rhymed with mole, a lot of which didn't go into this animation (one is "toll") and it was simply because I couldn't find a way to make a tangible story-line if I did, so there was some opportunity cost there...

And indeed, music is NOT my forte, and neither are vocals =P
Actually, I asked TheWeeble if he could do something real quick but he was way too busy... I decided I'd worked wayyy too long on this, and decided to just risk it and upload it as is. Thanks for the review! ^^

Psychadelic

Art/Animation: 8/10
Well, I love your psychedelic effects with the colours and triangular textures. The animation was a bit repetitive, but overall it was very good, except for the walk cycle, it didn't look too good.

Concept/Storyline: 7/10
It was quite good, but a bit boring and slow. The names seemed a bit generic too..

Audio/Music:: 10/10
The voice was great, and the music suited the flash really well. There isn't much here I can fault you on.

Overall: 9/10
Really good, but has a few flaws..

Rutger responds:

Thanks! Generic names? I was trying to do something different than Eric and Billy and John actually

Line quality!

Art/Animation: 7/10
I liked the playfulness of the animation, it was believable but not very realistic. Like your other flash I reviewed, the Demo Reel, your line quality is bad. Although you said you lowered the smoothing, it still looks too high. It should be between 40 and 60. What was it on for that? Hopefully though, when you get your tablet, it will all improve :)

Concept/Storyline: 6/10
It was kinda funny, but my only criticism was that it ended at 4. Couldn't you have killed him off at No. 10? I think this would have added to the humour and made it longer and better..

Audio/Music: 7/10
I like your slightly German voice, it sounded good, and, as we all know because of Yotam Perel, accents are awesome :)

The only problem was that the sound quality wasn't too good..

Overall: 7/10
Good, but needs better line quality!

HolyKonni responds:

Line smotthing is on 59. Yes, killing at no. 10 was possible, but I wanted to make something quick and short. Lol, german voice :D. Thanks Leonardo for the review!

Should have waited..

Art/Animation: 8/10
Some of the FBF stuff was pretty good, but the main thing that bugged me was the line quality. I think you have it on a too high smoothing level. somewhere between 40 and 60 is the best, I've found. Because of the bad line quality on the brush things, the pixel stuff was the best.

Concept/Plot: 5/10
There's nothing wrong with a demo reel, but I think you should have left it longer until you had a decent amount of stuff. This way, you can include only the best bits, rather than having to put in the bad stuff.

Audio/Music: 6/10
I liked it, and it fit well with what you had, but it just cut off at the end. You could have faded it out and it would have been much better.

Overall: 7/10
Good, considering what you had, but you could have left it a bit longer.

HolyKonni responds:

Thanks Insanimation!

Good speed effect.

Art/Animation: 6/10
This wasn't too bad really. You captured the effect of speed very well, and everything was easy to see..You used a bit too many filters though. Another thing that bugged me was the end, with the Bitmap image and the other shabbily drawn handwriting. A normal font would have sufficed for that.

Plot/Concept: 3/10
I know you're saying it's not meant to have a plot, but that's not really an excuse, to be honest. Y'know, I could submit an audio track with no sound, and just say it wasn't meant to have sound, but that wouldn't stop it being crap.

I don't know your father, but if he likes throwing stuff, then maybe it would be great for him..

Audio/Music: 7/10
I think you did this quite well, really. Everything fit, and made the action better. Not the best sound quality, but that's not a big deal.

Overall: 5/10
You were let down by the lack of plot.

naronic responds:

sound is what makes an audio submission an audio submission
ANIMATION is what makes a flash a flash, not storyline

you mentioned in your review that my handwriting was bad
not that that's an offense but do you know how ANNOYING it is to work with font? It cuts of phrases and letters CONSTANTLY and you end up having to size it down to the point where you can hardly see it.
I don't know how to change sound quality but it sounded fine when I streamed the timeline.

thanks for the review anyways
your critique is appreciated

Weird..

Art/Animation: 6/10
There wasn't anything special here..It did the job, but a bit more detail and attitude would have really spiced it up a bit. The sun looked very generic. Try and give him a bit of character. The guy in the plane was a different style to the rest too, which was weird.

You used a bit too many filters too. There's no need too blur everything..

Concept/Storyline: 5/10
It was interesting, and you conveyed it well, but it felt like we should be looking for a message, and yet there wasn't really anything. Nuclear bombs are good? Hmmm..

Audio/Music: 8/10
The music worked quite welll, and the SFX were decent. Good work here. However, the music was just cut off at the end. You could try to fade it out instead.

Overall: 7/10
Good, but needs a better plot..

[Review Request Club]

urban-wolf100 responds:

cool, thanks for the tips insanimation.
yeah your right, i do use blur way too much.
i wasnt saying nukes are good, it was just a random idea me and dave had

Badly executed.

Art/Animation: 0/10
There were a few pictures that you didn't make, strung together with no originality. No marks here.

Plot/Concept: 3/10
There's nothing wrong with a tribute to Billy Mays, but I think that you should have tried to be more original, rather than a slideshow.

Music: 2/10
Considering this is a man who has just died, you could have chosen a slightly sadder song. The sound quality was decent though..

Overall: 1/10
Good intentions, but you couldn't pull it off..
